Since many buildings require insurance to be received within 24 hours of your scheduled move, Lone*Star Moving can provide the insurance certificated needed in order to furnish any of the needs that the building may have. This leads to a clean and hassle free move as the building will have the proper documentation to protect all the parties involved. We also provide protection for Workman’s Compensation, Auto liability, and Cargo insurance just to name a few. Our clients are also automatically covered for damages when using our insurance program.
Why Understanding Moving Insurance is Important
It is important that you fully understand what dollar amount the mover is responsible for, in the event your goods get lost or damaged. This amount is governed by the valuation statement on the bill of lading. Please read through carefully to avoid any misunderstandings.
The minimum coverage required by law (and it’s free) is called limited liability. If an item is lost or damaged you would receive reimbursement at a rate of $.30 per pound per article. This does not cover the actual value of the item.
You may wish to consider purchasing a separate insurance policy to provide you with more substantial coverage. First check with your Homeowners Policy to see if your property is covered in transit. Your insurance carrier can provide you with more details about this option. We would recommend additional insurance coverage with our preferred vendor.
